Seagate Centre Indoor Walking Facility

The Seagate Centre located in the downtown area provides employees with an indoor walking facility. This addition is geared toward increasing the number of steps taken during the cold winter months when employees tend to walk less, as well as the warmer months for those who would rather avoid the heat. The health coaches created different walking routes with calculated distances so employees would be able to track their distance. The maps can be found on our Lucas County Wellness Website as well as our Lucas County Wellness Facebook page.

Caught Being Healthy

Caught Being Healthy is a way for the health coaches to highlight county employees participating in activities that improve their health. This may include activities such as eating a healthy packed lunch, attending a free on-site fitness class, signing a wellness program contract or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. These employees are featured on the Lucas County Wellness Program Facebook page, with employee approval. This program is a great way to shine a spotlight on employees for displaying healthy behaviors.

Health Coach Bucks

Health Coach Bucks is a fun, interactive, and incentivized program aimed to increase participation of Lucas County employees in many of the different programs and events available to them. A Health Coach Buck is a special reward dollar bill made by the health coaches that is given to employees for participation in the wellness program. Employees collect health coach bucks and once they reach a total of 5 bucks, they can submit for a prize. This program encourages County employees to be more active in the wellness program.

The March Madness Fitness challenge works the same way as the March Madness Basketball Bracket.  The competition runs from March 1st to March 31st. Employees are able to earn points by doing various healthy activities to move to the next round. An activity log is provided for the participants to document their successes in a written format. The final four receive a prize.
