Computer Training Lab Overview

The Lucas County Information Services Computer Training Lab, located at One Government Center, was designed to provide the Lucas County workforce with a location for hands-on computer and software training. It’s fully equipped with 44 Windows workstations, 3 printers, 2 86" screen displays and 1 65" internet enabled smartboard. The Computer Training Lab is managed by LCIS.

Reservation Guidelines and Usage Policy

Reservations

To reserve the LCIS Computer Training Lab, submit a reservation request form (pdf) with a work order to LcisHelpDesk@co.lucas.oh.us. Submitting a form does not guarantee a reservation. 

You can check the Computer Training Lab schedule online by viewing the shared LCIS Training Calendar in Outlook. The reservation form and your work order must be submitted at least seven (7) business days prior to the class/event to allow time for technical setup and configurations.

Cancellation via E-mail to LcisHelpDesk@co.lucas.oh.us  from the Responsible Requestor is required a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the scheduled events. 

Lab Use

A courtesy technical equipment setup is provided. 

Technical assistance will be present during the sessions. 

Free Wi-Fi is available upon request to approved guests. 

All training rooms shall be maintained in a neat and orderly manner. Negligent or willful damage to the rooms will be billed to the event Requestor’s agency. 

Food is not allowed in the training room. Closed top drinks are allowed. The Requesting agency will be billed for additional cleaning or damage if required. 

LCIS shall not be responsible for loss or damage to any personal items or other equipment not provided by our department. 

All reservations should start no earlier than 8:30 A.M. and end no later than 4:00 P.M. 

The Requestor shall use the PC Training Lab during the term for training or education and for no other purpose. LCIS shall have no obligation to provide any program needs, including supplies and equipment other than that listed on the reservation form. 

The responsible Requestor should not make any changes and/or alterations or post signs without first obtaining consent from LCIS.

Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the PC Training Lab.

Additional, special needs workstations have been installed in the training lab. These workstations provide students with a height adjustable desk to make their learning experience more comfortable.

Special Requests

Special software:

Non-standard software required on the computers must be provided by the department/group using the lab and must be approved and installed by LCIS. The group must provide LCIS with a disclaimer that the group will take full responsibility for legal licenses of the software. 

Other special requests may be accommodated with manager's approval. Please allow additional time for processing to review and approve these requests.

Conditions of Use

The group using the lab must agree to the following conditions:

Food and open-top beverage containers are NOT permitted in the lab. However, closed-top beverage containers (bottles of water, cups with lids, etc.) are permitted. The department/group using the lab is responsible for replacement cost of equipment if any equipment is damaged during the training lab rental.

All equipment, including the computers, chairs and tables, etc. must remain in the lab.

The group using the lab is responsible for safe keeping of all equipment during lab use and will be held liable for any loss and/or damage due to misuse, abuse, or negligence (i.e. equipment missing when door not closed and locked after last person leaves.)

Miscellaneous

Copy services - Instructors are responsible for providing enough printed handouts for all participants. We recommend either e-mailing the handouts to each participant in advance, creating a website where participants can download the materials, or assigning one of your staff to print and distribute handouts to participants. Please note - a printer is available for use, however, session handouts may not be printed with the room printer.

Fax services are not available at this location.
