The Lucas County Recorder Michael D. Ashford is proud to offer the real estate notification platform AlertMe to residents of Lucas County. AlertMe is a voluntary notification system that alerts users when a document containing your registered name(s) have been recorded in our office. Notifications are provided by email and/or text message at the preference of the user. Message and data rates may apply and are not the responsibility of the Lucas County Recorder’s Office.
How it Works
When a document is recorded into the Official Records of Lucas County with an identity that is being monitored, an email will automatically be sent to the provided email address. To search documents already recorded under your name use our Public Access site.
DURING SIGN UP you are given the opportunity to enter Identifying Information to be monitored. You may enter up to five names or variations to monitor. The names must exactly match as presented on the recorded documents. Do not use punctuation. When entering names to be monitored, follow the examples below…
You will choose between a Person's Name or a Business Name .
For a Person's Name, you will be prompted to enter Last Name and First Name. (Do not use punctuation.)
For Example:

For Business Name, you will be prompted to enter the company name. (Do not use punctuation) We do not index the word AND it is always replaced with a &. The words COMPANY and INC or INCORPRATED are usually dropped unless the business name could be confused with a persons name or it comes in the middle of the name or in a single word name. Spacing is also important. P&G is different from P & G.
