Appellate Division
The Appellate Division of the Lucas County Prosecutors Office provides legal representation on behalf of the State of Ohio for criminal appeals and post conviction petitions originating from the Lucas County Common Pleas Court General and Juvenile divisions.
The Appellate Division handles appeals in the Sixth Appellate District, Ohio Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court, as well as motions for post conviction relief filed in the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas.
The Appellate Division also supports the Trial Division's pretrial motion practice and assists with research and analysis of issues related to the prosecution of criminal charges. The Division also monitors legislative changes and developments in common law impacting criminal prosecutions.
