Steering Committee and Sub-Committees
We encourage you to join and learn more about how the Impact Coalition Steering Committee is making a difference. The Steering Committee aspires to:
· Reduce social costs related to crime, poor health, and welfare
· Strengthen educational attainment and job skills
· Enhance economic development
· Improve on-the-job productivity
· Revitalize neighborhoods
· Build sustainable communities where everyone can live well
Together we will engage organizations, programs, businesses and all sectors in alleviating poverty and building a healthy and sustainable Greater Toledo.
Steering Committee members are encouraged to get involved at a deeper level and join one or more sub-committees:
The Training Sub-Committee oversees Lucas County’s local resources who provide training to individuals, organizations, and sectors in the research-based constructs of Bridges Out of Poverty. We offer a menu of best practices in trainings for all three classes (poverty, middle class, wealth) and support resources that will help to transition Bridges concepts into actual change in our community.
Chair – Dee Washington, Harbor
Through members of the Steering Committee as well as Getting Ahead graduates, facilitators, volunteers and allies, the Engagement Sub-Committee is working to build a collaborative infrastructure with representation from all sectors of the community and all economic classes that will work together to effectively address and resolve the issues of poverty in our community.
Chair – Crystal Harris Darnell, YMCA of Greater Toledo
