Purpose and Goals

The Purpose of Impact Coalition
Impact Coalition is dedicated to reducing the social costs of poverty, strengthening Greater Toledo’s workforce, and building a more prosperous and sustainable community. The Impact Steering Committee is an active body of sector leaders collaborating through bi-monthly and standing sub-committee meetings to build a collective impact model that embeds self-sufficiency practices and expands sector engagement across Lucas County. We encourage employers, community organizations and social service agencies to join the Steering Committee as we work together to implement change both within our organizations and throughout our community. As a member, your organization will not only gain access to valuable free trainings to prevent and alleviate poverty, but it also will be a driving force in moving the needle on poverty. We encourage you to learn more about the Steering Committee’s dedication to improve job retention rates, build resources, strengthen outcomes, and support those who are moving out of poverty.

Funding for Impact is provided by Lucas County Job and Family Services and the Board of County Commissioners.

If you or your organization would like to learn more about community sustainability as well as becoming a member of the Impact Coalition Steering Committee, please contact Stephen MacDonald, Impact Coordinator at 419-725-7186.

Our Goals:
Our chief goals are to work with community and sector organizations to embed practices that alleviate poverty, and to collaborate on best practices and sustainable solutions. We also aspire to address systemic or structural barriers at local organization and policy levels to address poverty, including issues of exploitation.
