The Lucas County Solid Waste Management District's Residential Recycling Drop-Off
Centers were designed to provide recycling opportunities to everyone in the county,
particularly those areas where curbside recycling is not available. Over 10 million
pounds of residential recyclables are recovered through the District's Drop-Off Centers
each year.
In the spring of 2000, the District redesigned and upgraded the Residential Drop-Off Centers and
expanded the program to more than 20 public centers located at shopping centers, parks and selected
township locations.
Starting in 2006, the drop-off centers will be getting a
make-over. The bins are changing from blue to green. All
of the drop-off centers have been expanded to accept office
paper, wrapping paper, greeting cards, and junk mail
