Annually, the auditor provides a breakdown of each levy in effect in Lucas County when compiling the tax duplicate, which, after receiving authorization from the Department of Tax Equalization, is forwarded to the Lucas County Treasurer. The Treasurer sends the bills and collects the tax based on the duplicate.

The auditor is also responsible for the distribution of the funds collected by the Treasurer, and disbursing these funds to the various political subdivisions throughout the County, based upon the tax rates in effect.
