How many life squads do you operate?
Lucas County EMS operates 10 life squads 24 hours a day.

Where are the life squads located?
A total of five life squads are housed in fire stations throughout Toledo. The other five life squads are located, one each, in Sylvania Township, Springfield Township, the Village of Whitehouse, and the Cities of Maumee and Oregon.
3.
What level of training are the EMS personnel?
All personnel on life squads are at the paramedic level. All EMS dispatchers are Emergency Medical Dispatcher-certified and at least at the basic EMT level of certification.

How can I contact the Lucas County EMS administrative office?
The administrative office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. General office number is 419 213-6510 and the fax number is 419 213-6520.

How many hours of continuing education are paramedics required to take each year?
