Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz presents the Lucas County MRDD Board with a ceremonial check representing its $472,000 in proceeds garnered from the county's first Tax Lien Sale, held late last year. Our entire community wins when delinquent taxpayers are held accountable.

Witamy! The Lucas County Treasurer’s Information Booth at the Lagrange Street Polish Festival…In addition to answering real estate tax questions, our staff helped people discover thousands of dollars owed to local residents through Ohio’s Unclaimed Funds program. Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz presents a ceremonial check for $150,000 to Santiago Martinez, owner of LaPerla Tortilla Factory and the first recipient of the Treasurer's Small Business Linked Deposit Loan Program. Also pictured is Aggie Dahar from the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce.

As founders of the Lucas County Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention Task Force, Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz and Commissioner Tina Skeldon-Wozniak met with concerned citizens at a recent Public Foreclosure Prevention Forum.

The Foreclosure Forums offer citizens assistance and information from several local agencies and organizations, including Job & Family Services, United Way 211, ABLE, Neighborhood Housing Services, NODA/Fair Housing, Veterans Services, Catholic Charities, and Consumer Credit Counseling.

Flanked by volunteers and elected officials from the city, county and state, Commissioner Tina Wozniak and Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz recently led a media and canvassing effort to inform the community about the Northwest Ohio Borrower Outreach Day (Owens Community College on Tuesday September 25, 2007, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

Part of a coordinated statewide effort, the event will feature credit experts and representatives from several financial institutions, all of whom will be on hand to offer loan counseling, refinancing information, and other services aimed at foreclosure prevention.

Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz presents a ceremonial check for $90,000 to Ed Beczynski, owner of MoJoe’s Café. Scheduled to open in January 2008 in the Toledo Edison Building in downtown Toledo, the venture will create four new jobs.
