Our 28th Lucas County Prosecutor was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas in 1885, grew up in Connorsville, Indiana. He graduated from the University of Toledo Law School in 1916 and was admitted to the Ohio bar that same year

A devoted brother and a hard-worker, Hunt paid for his own as well as his brothers' and sisters' education by working on farms and in factories.

Active in Republican politics, Hunt served several terms in the Ohio legislature between 1921-27 and was the author of he book "Home Rule in Taxation". In 1926, he was elected Lucas County Prosecutor and served two terms, after which he entered the private practice of law in the Spitzer Building in downtown Toledo.

A contemporary history states that Hunt was:

"Well-grounded in his knowledge of the law, possessing a keen and analytical mind, and determined and resourceful as a trial lawyer, he has been more than ordinarily successful and is regarded as one of the leading members of the bar and one of the best prosecutors Lucas County has ever had." (Maumee Valley and Sandusky Region, Chicago, SJ Clarke Publishing Co., 1929, p.231).

Hunt died prematurely after a short illness at the age of 48.
