The Board of Revision (BOR) reviews complaints people have with their property values.  Homeowners who wish to challenge their property values as listed at the Auditor’s Office may do so before the 11:59 p.m.  March 31, 2020 deadline. Homeowners must complete and file a BOR form before the deadline.

Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez and her staff are available to assist homeowners in researching his or her property value and in completing the forms.  Homeowners may also research property values online via the Auditor’s Real Estate Information System (AREIS). Real estate values may also be obtained by calling the Auditor’s Education Outreach Help Line at (419) 213-4406 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Once a complaint has been filed, homeowners will receive a scheduling notice by ordinary mail. Hearings are held in One Government Center on the sixth floor. Hearings are scheduled in 30 minute increments. The homeowner will meet with a Board of Revision joint panel comprised of representatives from the Auditor, Treasurer and Commissioners' offices.

If you choose to waive your right for a hearing and have the Board render a decision on your behalf, please complete the Online Waiver FormAdditional information is required including but not limited to: comparable sales, recent appraisal, settlement statement, purchase agreement, condition, photo(s), certified repair estimate(s), etc.

Property owners may obtain a paper BOR form at the Auditor’s office, via mail, or can 
download a printable copy.  Complainants filing income producing, commercial or industrial property applications are encouraged to review the BOR instructions for filing a complaint.
